Micro cabins on rocks

Some time ago I came across into micro cabins contest but I didn’t have anything particular in mind on that moment. I thought it’s a good opportunity to model something small, but with a much better detail then in everyday quick jobs, where detail is not a priority.

I found that group of micro cabins in forest outside Colorado, designed by University of Colorado Denver. It was a bit of a challenge to make the hot-rolled steel look convincing. Great, raw-looking material though.

At start I planned to place it in original surroundings, but then I experimented with terrain and Forest Pack Pro and came to the conclusion that both of these, the cabin and terrain, fit each other pretty well.

Terrain with some random height map from google, terrain texture is also a random Himalayan satellite capture, so it may look weird in some places. Maybe I’ll try terrain generator later on.
hdrihaven.com – great source of hdri’s. Kiara 8 Sunset was used on this one.
ground texture – RDT vol.1 – rocky ground 2 – unfortunately it may look a bit repetetive

Photoshop – little to medium compositing, also levels and colors made in Camera Raw – awesome tool.
Wolf, backpack, sun flares and some clouds also made with PS.

VIVIENDA EN LA CUMBRE

LA INSPIRACIÓN PARA LA VISUALIZACIÓN DEVINO DE MI NIÑEZ, DE LAS TARDES DE VERANO EN EL CAMPO JUNTO A MIS PRIMOS JUGANDO EN EL PRADO, CON LOS LIMITES DEL BOSQUE A NUESTRO ALREDEDOR Y LAS MONTAÑAS DE FONDO.
ESA LUZ CÁLIDA Y SUBE DEL ATARDECER, LAS LORAS PINTANDO EL CIELO Y LOS CABALLOS PASTANDO A LA PAR DE NUESTRA JUEGOS.
LA CLAVE ESTUVO EN UN BUEN ENFOQUE COMO UN ZOOM DEL TODO, QUE ME TRASMITIRÁ LA HISTORIA COMPLETA DE ESE RECUERDO Y PUSIERA A TODOS LOS ACTORES EN ESCENA SIN QUE NINGUNO PASE DESAPERCIBIDO .
CON RESPECTO A LA PARTE TÉCNICA FUE SIMPLE PERO CONTUNDENTE, LA IMAGEN DE REFERENCIA ESTABA EN MI RECUERDO, LA LUZ COMO SIEMPRE ES LA CLAVE ATMOSFÉRICA DEL TODO.

Firefly

We were extremely glad to visualize We are happy to share our recent work Firefly. A visualization of the conceptual radio beacon. As a successor to a classic lighthouse, it’s still able to guide ships but mainly performs as a unique viewpoint over never-ending ocean. Opposes its refinement to brutal breakwaters and brings in stillness to the shoreline of Eynort.

Tiny

I got the model of the house in Revit and of course I had to clean it. Then I took care to refine the model. I have modeled windows, added roof windows, gutters, metal sheets, etc. I have modeled sheet metal work, railings on the balcony, blinds, etc. When it comes to materials, it was not much, sheet metal, concrete and boards, so I could deal with it a bit. Sheet metal has dirt in reflect, vraydirt in diffuse, and vrey edges in bump. Boards are made with the help of a flor generator with multitexture with over a dozen maps of separate boards, this map was repeated in reflect and glossiness with saturation at 0. The plate has been duplicated with a modifier clone. I also added furniture to the interior. I used models from Evermotion, some free from 3dsky, and free scans from Sketchfab. I used forest pack to distribute the models in the scene. I was using Vrey-Next to render. Then, only post-production was left. And ready 🙂

Cantilever House

The ‘Cantilever House’ is a non-commissioned project developed for Saint Gallen, in northeastern Switzerland, where the picturesque environment makes for a challenging but self-pleasing exercise.
As an architect and urban planner with more than 10 years of experience dedicated to the archvis industry, I believe it is essential to create my own conceptual projects in order to improve skills. For this reason, I’ve chosen to fully design the ‘Cantilever House’ from conceptualization of the exterior forms to all of interior design & styling. I also explored the project as a virtual photographer finding out the best lighting and camera compositions.
