‘The Museum’ / Maxwell Render Challenge has ended on the 15th this month and I am very proud to present the images created by the 20 finalists of this special Architectural Visualization Challenge dedicated specifically to the use of Maxwell Render featuring the Neue National Gallery. I enjoyed this event very much, as it featured an architectural masterpiece and in focus use of the Maxwell Render engine as never seen before. Go ahead and have a closer look at the submitted images as the Jury starts the decision making process.
‘The Museum’ / Maxwell Render Challenge ended today, making way for ‘The Museum’ / Lumion Challenge to start! Collaborating with Act-3D, the makers of Lumion – The Real-Time Architectural Visualization Tool, for the first time on a challenge, this event calls for the use of Lumion in showcasing the 20th century masterpiece you came to know so good by now – The Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin by legendary architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. This time in motion too! We also have some enticing prizes for you, not commonly seen here before, such as a Grand Winner 3,000 EURO Cash Prize and Lumion Pro Licenses with free upgrades to versions 3.x & 4.x as they come out.
Today marks the 3rd year for this blog being on the air! And I have all of you to say thank you for being part of this… Time does fly when you’re having fun! The blog kept growing in the past year and I plan to keep the momentum going strong. I featured Chris Kowal’s work on ‘The Mill’ back in March this year and I never got quite enough of it really. The scope of work undertaken by Chris on this one was extensive and there was much left to be told about it. I asked him to share more of his thoughts about the process of making this project… Not just from a technical standpoint, but also from several other aspects we rarely get into like project management, concept design, concept development and above all – the mobile / touch adaptation and the potential Chris sees in working with and for mobile devices in the Architectural Visualization field.
As promised, Efim Armand follows up on showcasing his latest work… ‘Memorial’, with a making-of article. What started as a testing ground for iToo’s Forest Pack plugin became a full-fledged project inspired by Efim’s visit to Berlin this Spring. Follow him as he describes the process that started from a simple Google Maps image all the way to the final animation.
