Rietveld Schroderhuis

Rietveld Schröderhuis is the first building i had to draw back in university while studying architecture. Last month in the office at REDVERTEX we had a challenge to re-do a project from our university days. And i decided to model and visualize it. The Rietveld Schröderhuis (build in 1924) in Utrecht is an icon of the Modern Movement in architecture and an outstanding expression of human creative genius in its purity of ideas and concepts as developed by the De Stijl movement. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. I tried a lot of different camera angles, moods, a lot of depth of field usage and explored a bit more photographic approaches. The whole scene is build in 3Ds max and with a little help of ZBrush. Photoshop was used for the final touches.

Lifting Longyearbyen

LIFTING LONGYEARBYEN

An official from the governor’s office exclaimed: “The ground is melting!” She cautioned the town folk that “We can no longer trust the permafrost.” Eventually, the town started to get assaulted by melting glaciers, precipitation induced landslides, coastal erosion, and rising sea level. Over time, these phenomena occurred with more frequency, and they were becoming increasingly damaging. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ “The people living in the town were exceptionally proud of their charming and cheerfully painted gable-roofed homes. Eventually, the governor was compelled to devise a strategy simultaneously mitigating the unrelenting bombardments by natural forces while maintaining the town’s natural heritage. The innovative solution was first to extricate the houses from their foundations, then insert them into a mega-structure anticipated to be tall enough to hover above the impending flood.⁣ ⁣ “Eventually, a glimmer of hope washed over the citizens when they elected to rename their town from Longyearbyen, to Askeladden, a name derived from Ashlad, a small child from Norwegian folklore who succeeds when all others failed. It was the best representation of the towns people’s optimism, durability, and conviction.

Dallas Aquatic Hotel & Resort by Pixarch

“…and we always strive to complete challenges that are unique.”- Words spoken by one of the Art Directors at Pixarch. Dallas Aquatic Hotel & Resort is a U.S based project that was subject to lot of excruciating moderations, natively due to the Project developers not being satisfied with the outcome.
Pixarch took up the challenge and catered to a new market half-way across the globe. Pixarch was not only able to satisfy the client by exacting the level of detail and realism required by them but even surpassed their expectations. From creating photo-realistic underwater views to showcasing a world of pure leisure in a way that is a feast to the eyes itself, Pixarch used the latest of technology and creative techniques to come up with the highest level of output for Dallas Aquatic Hotel & Resort.
