Render Legion released Corona Render 1.3 for 3ds Max, Their biggest update yet since Corona 1.0. It features many new features, as well as important bug fixes and optimizations. I’ll say it again, and again… and again! You can never have enough 2d cutout people for your renders. A steady supply is needed to avoid repetition, but also in order to avoid misplacement – and that fact is at the core of NONSCANDINAVIA. It’s is a free, open-source, online database of hi-res PNG images, dedicated to increasing diversity in architectural representation. The project is framed as a counterpart to Skalgubbar, the free Swedish cutout site causing a ubiquitous creep of Swedish hipsters in architectural renderings outside of Sweden.
Today’s inspiration comes thanks to Phil Buerer, following his “Infinity” post on the forums where he recreates one of the original photos of the Infinity house by Atelier d’Architecture Bruno Erpicum & Partners. Located at the Baleares Islands, Spain, this simple and white structure serves as great reference for clean and monochromatic design under the Mediterranean light.
After 3 Months of exciting and interesting challenge, I’m happy to announce the winners of “The Vineyard” challenge today, live at SOA Academy Day #6 in Venice, Italy. The announcement closes an amazing two days event held by my good friends at SOA, who constantly raise the bar making each one better than the previous one.
It’s time for some blender render to be featured here on the blog! I stumbled upon this beautiful work by Paulina Kochanowicz not long ago and thought this would be a perfect one to start with. First, because it looks great… I love vertical green walls and this one is beautifully executed. Second, it is all done inside Blender and rendered with the built-in Cycles render engine. Keep in mind all you see here is done with a freely available open-source platform. Enjoy!
