Cool sprite animation over a still 3d rendered image by Jonathan Weston. While the video showcases what might happen to a new development and what the property developers end up doing, I like it for the not so usual treatment and technical aspects. It has a high cool effect too!
No doubt it is the time of the GPU in Architectural Visualization. First Twinmotion and now please take a look at LUMION. Developed by ACT-3D, the makers of Quest3D, it is said to be a new & easy tool for architects and their clients to explore their designs. No doubt they follow the footsteps of Ka-Ra as far as their way to present it… and it is a nice way to do it. First preview is about Lumions capability to handle large landscapes. Huge amounts of trees and plants in an dream-like setting. Shows how you can enhance your movies using freely available models combined with the standard Lumion object library.
I’m very proud to present the images created by the 24 finalists of the second Architectural Visualization Challenge – HOVER. I enjoyed this event very much as I’m sure you did too based on the feedback I got so far. Don’t forget to submit your feedback too if you participated in the challenge or even just visited the forums during this event.
The HOVER Architectural Visualization Rendering Challenge is coming to an end and the final images submission forms are now open. If you are one of the challengers please follow the links below to get to the upload and feedback forms. All others are invited to visit the challenge threads and check out the great work done by the artists participating and also add your feedback as a visitor… it is valuable to me and will help improve the next challenge!
NORM Architects have recently completed the Fredensborg House near Copenhagen, Denmark. Below you will find a selection of interior photos taken inside the house – super cool “White Supremacy” going on here! and I like it. Even the brick walls and wooden floors have a pale white tendency… not so easy to setup a 3d scene to look like this and blend well all over. I’ll have to try that though.
Following Javier’s great V-Ray procedural sand tutorial post, I’ve seen this rather cool video by Sascha Henrichs over at 3dtotal about the way he models 3d sand dunes using 3ds max patch grids. You might get a very nice looking sand environment doing a combo of both. Feel free to mess around with it.
