Pixelpark‘s ‘Termitary House’ visuals, inspired by the real ‘Termitary House’ in Thanh Khê District, Da Nang, Vietnam designed by Tropical Space Studio, awarded them Best Visualization of the Week NO. 49/2015 for a remarkable CG remake and level of details they went into remaking the house signature feature – The Bricks. Follow this article as they describe the process of creating these highly photorealistic visuals using 3dsmax, GrowFX, V-Ray and just a bit of postwork. Enjoy!
iToo Software have released a new tips and tricks episode that explains how you can re-seed parametric objects automatically using Forest Pack. Using examples that include procedural stones, nested Forest pack patches and GrowFX trees, they show how you create the largest variety with just a few objects in the scene.
Skatter for SketchUp v1 was released this week! As a SketchUp user for many years now, it is a great joy for me to help bring this tool to the SketchUp user community. Skatter is the brainchild of Architect and 3D Artist Thomas Hauchecorne, and he did a superb job developing it. Today I’m very happy to share this article by one of our early beta group users, Mads Bjerre from AART Architects. He first shared “The Meadow” in the Skatter Support forums sparking everyone’s imagination as to what can be done with Skatter. Enjoy this article and know that “The Meadow” Scene file along with the assets is available for free on The ArchVIZ Shop!
A new scattering extension for SketchUp is coming soon – Skatter. There is only a video showing what is an alpha preview of what seems to be a very capable scattering plugin… kind of Forest Pack inside SketchUp with render engine instancing / proxy support (so it seems with Thea Render being used on the preview). Pretty cool and I look forward to see more and have a go at it!
iToo Software announce today the release of Forest Pack 4.1.2 Lite & Pro. The new version is V-Ray 3.0 compatible, adds the ability to use density and scale falloffs with surface areas (Finally!), support for Laubwerk Plant Kits and Octane / Thea render engines materials for the presets library.
Earlier this month, 3Dstudija studio posted their “Scandinavian Summer House” visuals on the forums and these immediately captured my attention. I’m not that familiar with the Scandinavian “Look & Feel”, but it sure reminded me of my Mediterranean local with a “Drop Dead Gorgeous” 3d Groundwork – Some of the best I’ve seen to date! I had a chat with the Maciulis Brothers, Matas & Antanas about this project and this article was born. Enjoy it.
