Act-3D, the makers of Quest3D and the latest real-time 3d visualization tool for architects – Lumion, launched a competition with $10,000 cash award up for grabs to the winner. This announcement follows the release of Lumion service pack 2, that introduced among the many bug fixes and new features, a new pricing policy corresponding to 3 variants of the application – Free, Basic & Ultimate. The free version will allow anyone to take part in the competition with a chance to win, aside of the cash prize, a Lumion 2.0 Ultimate license too.
I am personally very excited about Lumion and started to test it as well as distributing the application via Polytown. While it is not the “fire and forget” type of solution as LumenRT, it is much more capable and offers a complete 3d real-time authoring solution. The only drawback I see so far is the fact you can only showcase the work by saving it into a movie – No real-time standalone player that will allow to send your file away to a client for example, or explore the scene without the editor application itself (and needing a license for doing so).

Interesting stuff, I will give a try too!
artmaknev Would love to see what you make with it. I really love these new real-time 3d tools... They are so much more in tune with my core part of the work - 3d Design Exploration.
it has a simple yet very artistic feel to it, watching these video actually made me happy, :)
