Making of ‘The House’

Rarely have I ever seen a private house residential project get so much attention and done with so much detail as ‘The House’ by Atelier York. This project marked the beginning of Alex York’s Atelier, starting as a relatively simple commission to produce exterior renders, but over the span of four years transforming into a complete 3d creation of the house using 3ds max & Mental Ray as the main tools producing more then 40 still images and the ‘Highlights Reel’ animation that you can see here. Making of Sitting Area

Jason Lee posted a little fun side project he made not long ago on the forums – The ‘Sitting Area’. Today he shares a little about the process of making this 3d scene using Lightwave for modeling and rendering. I hope this will open up the door for more Lightwave users to share their work here as it looks like a very capable system and yet seems not so popular among archviz artists (is it?). Anyway, Jason get’s into some really great detail work in this scene we all can learn from… especially the extra push on adding details in postwork.

Making of HOVER ‘Time Traveler House’ by Tolgahan Gungor

The ‘Time Travler House’ earned Tolgahan Gungor the 1st Runner Up award in the HOVER architectural visualization challenge. It is a very unique piece of art which also awarded him the special category prize for best design and a respected CGTalk CG Choice Award.
