I’ve learned about the Los Faiques Dwellings in Yunguilla valley, Ecuador, following pixelpark’s remarkable CG remake of this eye catching design by Duran & Hermida arquitectos asociados. Named after the trees occupying the site, the pavilion like structures blend in and open themselves towards the surroundings. There are amazing dusk shots in this photo set taken by photographer Sebastián Crespo.
Theres a new kid on the veggie block that you should be aware of. I’ve tested Berlin based Laubwerk’s 3D Plants Kits for a while now, and it is a very interesting solution for populating your scenes with 3d Trees and Plants. A combination of smart content powered by a plugin from within 3ds Max & Cinema4D, supporting V-Ray, Mental Ray, Scanline and Advanced Render.
You can never have enough 3d trees & plants. Keeping your scenes greenies nice and fresh is important, so here’s a little heads up – April is almost up and you have 1-2 days left due to my previous heads up, demand was such Xfrog granted an extra full month to take advantage of the 50% discount on all Xfrog’s products. Earlier this month, 3Dstudija studio posted their “Scandinavian Summer House” visuals on the forums and these immediately captured my attention. I’m not that familiar with the Scandinavian “Look & Feel”, but it sure reminded me of my Mediterranean local with a “Drop Dead Gorgeous” 3d Groundwork – Some of the best I’ve seen to date! In light of the recent 3d foliage/vegetation plugin updates and new releases (Forest Pack Pro v4, Laubwerk Plant Kit, Carbbon Scatter v2, The Plant Factory, etc.) I went looking for some amazing photo reference… trying to find an itch for you to scratch 😉 ‘The Caterpillar’ House by Feldman Architecture hit that spot and nailed it deep into the ground!
