CABINS / benio178 : benio178

… but at the same time I understand the spirit of the contest.
It this entry I wanted to show you the main composition I have in mind for my main shot. The architecture of the shelter should blend into the slope of the mountain and be a part of it, not disturbing the natural context.
I am planning to use Corona Render to achieve most realism in the scene, and combine it with Megascans which are graciously given access to us in this contest. It is the first time for me to use them, and from the beginning I must admit, that it won’t be easy on Australian internet and its speed ;).
Good luck everybody and have fun!

CABINS / StephenBreux : A place of inspiration

There are places that make you dream, inspire, make you want to create stuff.
I participate in this contest to increase my talents of renderman. Also a good opportunity to learn how to use Quixel
My concept is a house dug in the middle of the cliffs, lost in the middle of nothing. Perfect place with a perfect view, to enjoy the silence, the lights, the stars.
It will be a night view, with different colors coming from the sky (stars, aurora borealis, moon, etc).
The Cabins will contain a lot of glazed elements to play with the reflections. In the middle of the picture will be a piano, or an artist’s studio, or a 3D computer artist ^^, with a person seeming to be inspired!

CABINS / jayfield1979 : Wilderness Modular Cabin

As the challenge is to use Megascans assets, I decided I’d use the branch atlases and bark texture to create some trees for the surroundings.

It’s not that easy to find trees that work well in game engines and look good so I decided to build my own. It took all my free time today but I’m quite happy with the results. I might share the tree on the asset store when I am completely happy with it.

It lacks variation when placed however so will create a few different shapes when I get more time. I need to focus on cladding the cabin itself now.

CABINS / Mithunam : The Escape System

The location will be in the real world in java, but some modify will be made if needed. The environment take place on paddy/rice field with a river at the bottom of it.

The main software i’ll use is 3ds Max, with supporting software like world machine, GrowFx for creating vegetation, and render with vray.

The cabin design will improve and developed more along the creation of the environment. The cabin design main concept will be fit with the terraced environment.

This is my first huge project i ever made, so i’ll try my best to make it great.

CABINS / jayfield1979 : Cabin

I am torn between a cabin in the woods and a cabin in the frozen wilderness. I decided to try a feel experiments using Megascan assets for any foliage. I was hoping the tests would yield a favourite but as much as I like the detail of the foliage, I am drawn towards the high contrast bleakness of the frozen wilderness setting.

CABINS / Tones : Cabin

The cabin sits on a spot with an extremely difficult access but with stunning views. The house can be reached by walking trough a narrow rocky path that has been sculpted into the rock of a cliff. Once you get around the house you have to pass through a little bridge that leads you into the house, which sits on a separate little cliff surrounded by the sea. It has also acces to the sea, thanks to the sculpted stairs that go down to the sea, where a little boat stays.
