In light of the recent 3d foliage/vegetation plugin updates and new releases (Forest Pack Pro v4, Laubwerk Plant Kit, Carbbon Scatter v2, The Plant Factory, etc.) I went looking for some amazing photo reference… trying to find an itch for you to scratch 😉 ‘The Caterpillar’ House by Feldman Architecture hit that spot and nailed it deep into the ground! Ridge Road Residence / StudioFour

I found the Ridge Road Residence by StudioFour after seeing an interview with Australian Architectural Photographer Shannon McGrath on the TWiT Photo show dated June 26, 2012 (episode 63). Very cool seeing the house exterior both in snow and vibrant green / blue dusk shot, as well as the various interior day time reference shots.

I’m a big fan of Carlos Ferrater work in any case, but this one is almost exactly what I had in mind for my Hover Challenge entry (which I did not finish, and had larger scale of venue to it) and it is built for real and looks amazing. I’m very fond of the courtyard housing typology and there is so much to learn from Joan Guillamat’s Photos taken here… The play of light outside and within the courtyard. The relation between the built house and the garden it floats on top of. The materials under the light… Enjoy this one!
