Good architecture looks beautiful and is functional.
The amazing architecture makes you feel. Through textures, forms, and volumes architecture evokes emotions. It makes us stop and wonder.
Majority of people perceive only visual part of architecture, but that’s just a touch on the surface.
Once, I met a blind person who truly fell in love with architecture. Through touching and walking around, with echo and sounds inside the building, he could tell if the building was well done or not. He is the true verification of architecture because you can’t deceive him with impressive visual elements. He could get closer to the soul of the building.
I imagine him near this school, I imagine him walking around the building with his hand pressing to the walls. And that’s a quintessence of what the architecture can give to people.

Hello! First of all I am really greatfull to tomorrow for this opportunity. Last year i won this competition and it was very big step in my career. So I thought it would be fun to take a chance to participate in this challenge again.

When i first saw the building we have to do i did some research and found so many amazing shots with different composions and I realized I do not want to copy any of them. So i decided to bring something different into this. Eventually aerial view from the roofs come up in my head.
I noticed that this specific architecture was developed very well in way to fit with historicsl surrounding. I thought it was very good point to play with. So the idea was to show interaction between modern building and historical surroundings. So to bring this concept to life and I decided to have stormy clouds and some light rays reaching out our building.
After i ve got my primarily idea i started to look for references for roofs for mood and color pallette.
After i had my references prepared, i started to play around with different views. I made around 20 different angles to find which works the best for me. Then i ve done some basic shading and started to play with lighting. After i ve got my composition and lighting done, i ve started to build foreground roofs and background building.
After that i spend some time on postproduction and work was done.
The most challenging part was to find clear idea and good references for my purposes. So i spent most of the time for research. Mainly it was about light scenarios, roof details , and weather conditions. Otherwise process went pretty smoothly.
Good luck for everyone!

My idea for this assignment was very simple: I wanted to highlighted the round form on the building with the warm sunset light and dark blue of the evening light (you can see how the shades of light changes in the sky and on the building going through yellow into dark blue). It was very important to me to show the corten exterior and how it changes with the different lightning (in the natural and artificial light). Within all of this, my goal was also to get the picture in the highest quality which can be compared to the photos of the building. I kept in mind not to change the beauty of this building and to be as close to the reality as I could.

This is my final entry. I decided not to add the ivy leaves as depicted in my concept art on the main building as I felt the greenery in the scene was enough composition wise.
All handpainted textures. No photo textures were used.
Really enjoyed working on this project. Thanks to Ronen and Tomorrow for this challenge.
