The 7th Architectural Visualization Challenge I’m running in partnership with Quixel as the marquee sponsor. The book CABINS by Philip Jodidio and the fantastic illustrations by Marie-Laure Cruschi served as the principal inspiration for this year’s challenge theme. That, and my love for prefab architecture design.

Here are my 3 final images. I have a few others that I’ll upload below but these are it for now.
I have really enjoyed this competition and seeing the high standard of the other participants.
There has certainly been some challenges along the way especially for my computer when it came to the VRs!! Megascans is awesome. I’ll be definitely using them in the future.
Thanks to Ronen Bekerman and all the sponsors!! All the best to everyone entered

Callao Cave is one of the limestone caves located in the municipality of Peñablanca, Cagayan province, most popular caves in the Philippines and the best known tourist attraction. Thats why my entry name called Callao Cabin..when I saw this place I was amazed for the greenest and calm of the environment it was amazing beautiful.. While we were in the area we tried also the the boat which made by wood and witness the scenic rocky cliffs, with clean greenish water ideal for swimming. It was co incident while browsing the internet I saw this Cabin Challenge..and the very first came into my mind is the callao cave and I was thinking that time what if I will make a beautiful cabin in this place..

“A Simple Claire’s cabin”

This is my final cabin entry done with 10 hours rendering on my version 1 and 16 hours rendering on version 2 .

Filling the horizontal line with trees, casting a sunlight into the house and behide the tree groups. Had fun in making and building the scene. Sometimes encounter difficulties with what i really wanted to be… and maybe that on version 3 but didn’t push thru. And again, I offer the Claire’s cabin for my 4 year old daughter turning her birthday on May 18, 2018. She’s also in part of the whole scene…

Through their traditional migration routes that carved out through the centuries, he guided me between the desert valleys and dunes. For hours I saw nothing, heard nothing, yet through the dusty storm something gleams and shines, I look at the nomad’s smiling eyes through the slit in his headdress as he whispers “this one is for the free folks”.

Concept Reminder:
Introducing a cabin or a group of cabins for the desert travelers, these cabins would attract and accommodate wanderers of the Sahara deserts as a tourism attraction point. Inspired by the unique rock and desert formation of the Algerian desert (Hoggar Mountains) and its rich heritage spots to create a group of cabins in its beautiful rocky scenery.

This project was an amazing learning experience that introduced me to a variety of new assets and techniques. For this project I rendered 3 still images (using 3ds max and unity 3D for modeling and Lumion 3d for rendering) while the VR is yet to be uploaded. The project contains a group of cabins that is excavated in the mountains, and on top of those mountains is a chilling spot that contains a swimming pool, restaurant and a star gazing chamber.
