CABINS / StephenBreux : A place of inspiration

There are places that make you dream, inspire, make you want to create stuff.
I participate in this contest to increase my talents of renderman. Also a good opportunity to learn how to use Quixel
My concept is a house dug in the middle of the cliffs, lost in the middle of nothing. Perfect place with a perfect view, to enjoy the silence, the lights, the stars.
It will be a night view, with different colors coming from the sky (stars, aurora borealis, moon, etc).
The Cabins will contain a lot of glazed elements to play with the reflections. In the middle of the picture will be a piano, or an artist’s studio, or a 3D computer artist ^^, with a person seeming to be inspired!

CABINS / arturo : Titan 2099 wip

Our proposal idea comes from the opportunity of imaging and dreaming of a forthcoming future scenario where interplanetary trips are not only possible but also beneficial. This, not just to escape from any likelihood Earth catastrofy, but as alternative of a conscious humankind.
According to the lastest research carried out by NASA/ESA/ASI, Titan’s features – Saturn’s principal satellite – are ideal for establishing autonomous colonies and at the same time remote outposts for Universe studies.
Moving from Science to Science Finction, we have envisaged a humanity capable of performing holiday trips to Saturn’s satellites.
Our design proposal is based on habitat-modules built with large glazed areas (on Titan the sun light is definitely lighter than that one on the Earth) that integrate mini green-houses containing gardens. From these modules will be possible to enjoy the view of “Ligeia Mare” (one of the satellite’s largest lakes made by liquid methane and ethane) and its golden haze, the immensity of Saturn cut out over the skyline and the other innumerable satellites from ‘The Lord of the Rings’, like Enceladus, Tethys and Dione.

The cabins modeling process is quite simple: basic poly modeling in blender. Landscape creation has been developed on 3ds max (elevation map via displace modifier) through radar images found on the web. There’s a lot of stunning images done by Cassini space probe.. So here we are!

CABINS / bdomiczek : Northern Wisps

Hi. I am completing my first scene. It may seem quick as there are nearly two months to go yet but I have planned a lot more here than just this one scene. Basically, it’s based on the sketch I made earlier and it’s sculpted so as to provide interesting vistas all around in 360 image. The close terrain (yellow on the attached image) is made manually according to the chosen perspectives (there is a distance based tessellation difference). There are many scatter engines applied and some manually placed assets. The background (blue) is to be rendered separately because the scene is already super heavy (although I proxied everything I could). There is also a foreground accent (orange) with detailed cliff and a wild fire spot.
I’ve filled cabins’ interiors with fireplaces and bunk beds. At the moment, it’s just for the purpose of translucent walls in exterior shots. I will refine them later, trying to catch some nice feeling in the very cramped space.
