CABINS entry by aviel08

I just wanted to submit my VR images and have to say I really liked this challenge and I can’t wait for the next one. Thanks Ronen for organizing it and to all of the sponsors for helping making it possible.

Alright, this is my final entry, I just got a new born baby and he left me with no time at all. As you might notice, my design is not too crazy since I’m actually planning to build this to escape from the crampedness of my small apartment.

This is my first time using Megascans and I gotta say it has been quite enjoyable. Their software, Quixel Mixer makes the tedious task of generate your texture into a walk in the park.
I created 2 snow master materials, one bumpy filled with imperfections and footsteps, the other one is smooth. I imported them into 3D Max and blended them.
I’m trying to be as accurate as possible, matching the existing vegetation to the current conditions on site.

I’ll probably render a summer version just to have another change to play with Megascans.

My wife and I live in a small apartment located in Melbourne, Australia. We are expecting our first son so I decided it would be great to have a place where we can escape for the weekends and holidays which can also be rented when unoccupied.
The architectural program consists of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a maximum occupancy of 7 people when required.

The location I chose for my cabin is in the Australian Alpine region known as Dinner Plain, just on the outskirts of Mount Hotham which is around 5 hours away from Melbourne. I’m aware it might be a surprise for many people to know that we have snow in Australia but it is true. Our winter season spans from June to August. It is also quite picturesque to see eucalyptus surrounded by snow.
