So after procrastinating for a long time, I managed to finish up the idea I had in my head. In the end, produced a scene and rendered it using Corona for the first time (which I am now in love with) and made use of Megascans assets to populate the scene. Bellow are a few still renders and a link to the final 360 VR environment. Enjoy 🙂 https://www.yulio.com/0uCcbLHVxD

I’ve spent my lunch breaks over the last 2 weeks modifying the idea and direction of what I was trying to achieve here. I’ll break down progress so far;
Started off with a rough mountain scape with an open side. I really wanted a lake/river flowing through the image to reflect the huts. All these started off with planes that were pushed and pulled as desired.
Created two clusters of huts and created cameras to capture the environment and the huts. After this was achieved, I started scattering the assets from Megascans and populated the scene based on the views.
I’ve not really ever used Corona Render for a full project on my own before so I thought it’ll be a great challenge to use it for this project. Mood for the render was definitely going to be a sunset, end of day vibe.
Materials and textures I haven’t delved deep into (which I will soon) but lighting and geometry is pretty much close to being there! Just thought to update progress so far. Easter Bank Holiday is upon us, I’ll resume next week with hope to finish the scene by that weekend.

Spent the afternoon modelling up a container and used that to build up a pod/cabin that could be used by people coming down to a safari reserve maybe? Who knows? The location is yet to be decided and this is an early stab at building the prefab pod to be scattered around to form a cluster/community within this … thing. (i’m pretty sure it’ll become clearer to us all as I progress further)

Inspired by the African community huts, I’d want to envision how a 2018 version of these communities would look using minimal & sustainable materials/techniques, yet retaining that cultural African community vibe. Keywords would be tents, shipping containers, stilts, bamboo, thatch, and so on. Building traditions from prehistoric times survive in the shadow of high-rise structures. Traditional African architecture is
generally studied for its anthropological content and to
study it from a contemporary perspective is exceptional
