CABINS / Auxey : Martian Wooden Cabins – Work in Progress

I modelized the whole project ( the dome, The cabins, etc.. ). I used a .STL terrain provided by the Nasa for the Mars Area. Actually, it’s the place where Curiosity landed. I had to trick a little with the scale because the .STL data of the terrain is very large. For the ambience, I used a simple Vray sun because The light there in Mars is in any case different than here on earth and the Vray sun gives us good control for that. I used also the Vray aerial perspective set to 6000m large and 500m height. It works pretty well. For the dome, I just took references on what we do here on Earth. It’s a Geosphere on that I used the lattice modifier to extract the structure. The trees come from Vizpark libraries. All the Debries, grass, stones and terrain texture are Megascan stuffs.

CABINS / matterender : update #1

Just a first quick setup of the scene. Landscape modeling and texturing was made in MODO with Vray plugin. For the mountains in the distance I used an aerial picture of a bay near Chile from USGS, as suggested by Ronen, and turned it into a displacement map to create the basic geometry. Obviously some plants, rocks and more realistic textures from Quixel megascans still need to be added! I post here a picture I found on the web that I used as starting point and inspiration. Funny enough, what I had in mind was Patagonia by I ended up with a picture of a lake not too far from where I live!
