CABINS / arxartem : The reconstruction project of the Svan house in Mestia.

Hi guys. This is a project for the reconstruction of an old destroyed house in the village of Svanitiya in the Georgian Alps. This idea came to me a year ago, when I was resting in Mestia. When I walked through the village, I saw an old house that had been razed, which is located in a very beautiful place on a cliff.
I thought about how it is possible to unite modern architecture and ancient traditions in one project.

CABINS / aviel08 : The Floor Plan

My wife and I live in a small apartment located in Melbourne, Australia. We are expecting our first son so I decided it would be great to have a place where we can escape for the weekends and holidays which can also be rented when unoccupied.
The architectural program consists of 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a maximum occupancy of 7 people when required.

CABINS / Tombarrie : Plain old cabin

I love grasslands that go on to the horizon. My cabin is situated smack bang in the middle of one, surrounded by nothing but the open air and more grass. Inspired by the architecture of Fearon Hay. The idea is to find a harmony between place and architecture. Placing a strong importance on how the building interacts with the landscape around it.

CABINS / aviel08 : The Site

The location I chose for my cabin is in the Australian Alpine region known as Dinner Plain, just on the outskirts of Mount Hotham which is around 5 hours away from Melbourne. I’m aware it might be a surprise for many people to know that we have snow in Australia but it is true. Our winter season spans from June to August. It is also quite picturesque to see eucalyptus surrounded by snow.
