CABINS / Ekolo : Modern Hut Update III

I’ve spent my lunch breaks over the last 2 weeks modifying the idea and direction of what I was trying to achieve here. I’ll break down progress so far;
Started off with a rough mountain scape with an open side. I really wanted a lake/river flowing through the image to reflect the huts. All these started off with planes that were pushed and pulled as desired.
Created two clusters of huts and created cameras to capture the environment and the huts. After this was achieved, I started scattering the assets from Megascans and populated the scene based on the views.
I’ve not really ever used Corona Render for a full project on my own before so I thought it’ll be a great challenge to use it for this project. Mood for the render was definitely going to be a sunset, end of day vibe.
Materials and textures I haven’t delved deep into (which I will soon) but lighting and geometry is pretty much close to being there! Just thought to update progress so far. Easter Bank Holiday is upon us, I’ll resume next week with hope to finish the scene by that weekend.

CABINS / QpixL : The untitled island cabin

I’ve started working on this a while back during the little spare time I had. This is more of a concept/ WIP part 1 kind of entry.
The concept is based on the landscape found in the northern part of Norway, drawing inspiration mostly from the beautiful landscapes of the Lofoten islands.
For the architecture I am using as reference the designs of Mount Fuji architects.
I modeled the basic shape with the skills I have in World machine, and after a quick trip to 3ds max, I imported it into ZBrush where I detailed it more.
For the texturing part I used the Quixel suite.
The cabin is next, along with more detailing of the scenery.

CABINS / JamieHolmes : Inside Out Part 4

Over the last week or so I have revisited the design for the Cabin. It is the same shape and proportion but I have made it feel like it could be prefabricated. The previous design was as far off as possible in terms of prefabrication. The updated design shows the steel cladded trusses bolted into large concrete anchors on the beach allowing the cabin to cantilever over the water. I’m not totally sold on the colour or finish of the steel work yet. I have slowly been chipping away at the environment and its starting to come along now. All the main elements are there. Its really just the finer details so that everything looks seamless.
