While searching for an idea and inspiration for the challenge I’ve came up to a decision, that cloudy reportage shot is what I miss in my regular archviz practice. In general, all the process went vice versa: instead of starting with light and composition, the first thing I’ve done, was search of an image with people, that could determine my further camera angle, light and mood. Next step was to pick up correct light, camera perspective, distortion values and gather all this into an interesting artistic reportage shot.
Thank you Ronen and Tomorrow, i really enjoyed working on this competition. best of luck for everyone.
The goal was to create a lazy Saturday with its emptiness around the building. But this emptiness is shined by a warm sun and covered by a heavy dark clouds. It was a big pleasure to work on this project. The most complicated part was to find an interesting view, cause I didn`t want to go out of the context. My big reference was a 1january walk in a small village close to Dresden where I could watch this kind of lighting and atmosphere alive.
For the beginning I wanted a bright and sunny image, to show a normal Wednesday of work at mid morning. Tough Sweden is wrought with harsh winter weather and fogs most of the times, It does have It’s sunny days. I wished to show the curves of the terrace and the reflections as the curves of the building in this setup. Didn’t want anything extra-ordinary, just a normal picture taken by a normal person, which when viewed looks stunning to the beholder. I also didn’t want the Red corten material as it was too mainstream, I had chosen peachy color metal in the elementary test renders, and it looked so nice and appealing that i kept it throughout the final render. A busy moving street, a busy college, one a bright sunny day.
And here is my final entry. Wish i had a little more time to work on this.
I was really enjoying this challenge and happy to see a different approach to the same project by various participants. Wish You all the best.
