AVIV House

Reyaz Alankandy

December 27, 2021 / in 3dsmax, Corona Renderer, Forest Pack, Photoshop / by Reyaz Alankandy

The project is designed and built by Mexican firm Co-Lab Design Office. Casa Aviv is located a short distance from the Caribbean coastline, aptly tucked in the greens of Tulum. The core concept of the projects is to merge indoors and outdoors into one generous, peaceful space. The mood palette composed of greys and burnt browns as well as the blue crystalline swimming pool resembles much to the famed cenotes located nearby.

This rental holiday home marries clean structure and beautiful handcrafted finishings. This juxtaposition of clean lines and ‘imperfections’ amused me to these renders- especially for honing my interiors.

A big thanks to CO-LAB for this opportunity!

The Garage in Autumn

The client demand was to create something adventurous with autumn/fall season. Creating realism in an environment was quite challenging but always forest pack comes in handy to distribute various forest elements with ease.

Bravehearts

2020 taught us two words, if nothing else ‘pandemic’ and ‘quarantine’. It asked us to hide away and coop up from society, threatening our lives, loves ones and livelihoods. While the world hid, some rose to fight back, to stand a chance against the virus. Here I portray a railway station I used to frequent – always overflown with bustling life. This year I visit, to find it emptied all except the sanitation worker, busy in the task. A proud tribute to these brave warriors, for their selfless hardwork through this pandemic.

This set of images are created using 3ds max, Corona render, Photoshop and Forest pack.
After getting projects from this particular client, I realized my potential in designing landscape/nature settings, which indeed is a crucial thing, especially when it comes to visualizing cabins.

“Even a Brick wants to be something” – Louis Kahn

As the day peeks out off its pristine white blanket, life already gains pace and motion. Yawning sun lazily envelops street bringing out
the dramatic brick game. Naked trees and snow-drenched fences adorns the winter backdrop.

Into The Woods

The simple vertical architecture complements its sun-kissed surroundings and requires minimal decor. The tone and texture of timbers used alongside the woods and promise of a beach nearby brings in harmony to its fullness.

Elementary works of this personal project is done in 3DS Max; rendered in Corona render -while playing with the depth of field- and glazed in Adobe PS

In this project I tried to bring in live city hues without overpopulating the scene. The ambience was created by color grading and I sure did enjoy playing with the lighting feature in Corona and Volumetric effects

Through this project, I meant to bring in the colours, suburban vibes and cultural delicacies we enjoyed along with the wonderful trip. This is a personal work later created for fun. I thoroughly enjoyed recreating a silhouette of the townways and the architectural marvels we witnessed throughout. Close observation and picture references came for aid. By involving autumn colours, vibrancy was promised.

The prime concept (Architecture) for this project is the Glass Conservatory House by Lorenzo Alvarez Arquitectos, designed as a combination of rural colors of Mexico bringing the best of contemporary and classic retreat ideas thus leaving an unforgettable imagery. The task helped me work with transparency and tranquillity of elements with a lush environment beneath the sky. Since this was a personal project, I had to spare my free time for it and wanted to introduce different moods and landscapes.
I set off modelling in 3ds max. Finding references was crucial and tough. In a while I was able to identify the mood-palette I wanted to work with and chose two views to establish the architectural interests and another two designated for the interiors. To break accustomed narration, I introduced contrasts though varied climatic conditions. Everything was rendered in Corona and finally polished in Photoshop.
