Great looking photos for this private house in Los Angeles. The dusk image is almost render like with very nice colors. This set provides very good reference for water, both calm and wavy, as well as white interiors and the combination of interior and exterior in the same shot. Read more
Opening the blog inspiration section is an architectural photography image set of a very cool looking office building. I love that they show several variations of the same viewpoint, you can learn a great deal about how materials react to different lighting situation this way. This set is varied in that it shows day and night exteriors and some “white supremacy” interiors i love so much. The dusk views look almost unreal with very intense levels of color. Read more
ArchDaily announced today the best 10 renders out of the 350 that was submitted to it’s Facebook fan page contest. I am honored to have one of my images selected in those 10, a personal favorite of mine – The Perlman Building at Dusk. Congratulations to all those that were selected, and to ArchDaily’s initiative too.
Here’s a quick tip I use almost all the time now, mostly because I really like the look and it’s easy and quick to setup, but the main advantage of an AO (ambient occlusion) pass is spotting problem areas in the geometry – especially holes and flipped normals you might have missed
