Images order reflects a path in the situation plan, starting in the Hotel views and finishing in Ria house. We were invited by a great group of people to participate in a rural-turism masterplan taken place in Quinta da Rocha, with 200 hectares. In Portugal, it´s located near the Alvor bay, an amazing natural-fishing resort: 37° 7’55.86″N 8°36’18.77″W

Since the environment is a protected area with pre-existing buildings the goal of the images was to show… a non-existing new project. Hard to describe the architectural concept behind this work. Anyway all the 3D nature we selected and placed was oriented by the landscape architect. Its similar to the real situation and direct comparations will be made in a book. An huge amount of different vegetation species was used. It was also important to capture the feeling, smell and temperature of Algarve and respect everyone wishes into the images.

Ideas such as: renew; existent; real; natural; rural; landscape; horizon; path; wild; local materials; modify as less as possible; were taken into consideration. Architecture leadership is from “Menos é Mais”, design by “United by”, landscape by “Outras Paisagens” and images by “Metro Cúbico Digital”.

The work is almost full 3D (we used drone photos for the backgrounds) and was once again created with 3DSMax, Corona and a bit of Photoshop. Totally our record in terms of size and usage of Itoo Forest. In some images, some cool things we used was corona volume material for the soft clouds, vertex paint in the paths, and substance material for the buildings white walls. Corona Sun was the only choice for us. Such a big scene. We are posting half the size of the original images. Originals were 7500px largest size. A book is currently being developed and we hope to be able to share it too soon.

Hope you like it!
Best regards, Jacinto
