Octane Corners by Bertrand Benoit

It is safe to say that no matter what render engine Bertrand Benoit picks up, the outcome will be among the best that was ever made! with that render engine. We’ve seen that all too well a month ago when he posted his “Corners” scene rendered with the real-time GPU engine – Octane, which won 2nd place in their 2012 Apocalypse Competition (I personally think he had a first place grade entry though). I would keep tabs on the advances the Octane people are making… it’s getting very interesting in the real-time zone.

Lumion 2 Released

Lumion 2 was officially released today, after being available for current clients starting a few days ago, as the development team made big efforts to deliver the new version before Christmas. Lumion 2 brings new features to the quick & easy real-time 3d visualization package… most notably, a new lighting system with an IES preset library, a new sky rendering system supporting night-time and new cloud types, a revamped user interface, better animation control and much more.

Forest Pack Pro 3.7.1 Beta Released

I’m normally don’t get so worked up about a beta release, but iToo Software has been very busy adding features and fine tuning Forest Pack Pro and it shows in the new 3.7.1b release. The introduction of multiple areas, real-time feedback, painting and better spline & overall control make it even stronger landscaping solution then ever before (and you can do much more than just landscaping with it as you know).

Lumion 2011 Competition Winners

The results of the 2011 Lumion Competition were announced today, an boy what amazing things can be done with this tool! It really makes me rethink the way I work today, and I have a lot to learn about it (and look forward too). I think the movie that came out in third place is the best among them all… maybe it’s the strong architectural design that fits my taste so precisely.
