ArchDaily announced today the best 10 renders out of the 350 that was submitted to it’s Facebook fan page contest. I am honored to have one of my images selected in those 10, a personal favorite of mine – The Perlman Building at Dusk. Congratulations to all those that were selected, and to ArchDaily’s initiative too.
Here’s a quick tip I use almost all the time now, mostly because I really like the look and it’s easy and quick to setup, but the main advantage of an AO (ambient occlusion) pass is spotting problem areas in the geometry – especially holes and flipped normals you might have missed
To kick-off the freebies section on this blog I’ll start by sharing some of the materials used in the creation of the Meditation Center project I first posted on [PushPullBar]2. Had a little play with the new update to the Building Generator script for 3D Studio Max. Works really good and can create nice city landscape with a few clicks of a mouse. The image you see above is the result of a few minutes of modeling and some postwork.
Next Limit released Maxwell Render version 2 today. This initial release is for current customers only, new users will be handled later on it seems. This major new version is said to bring an arsenal of new features, enhancements and additions. I’ll have to check these all out in the following weeks.
