I’m happy to bring you a short new tutorial by Luis Linares from Kuan Studio. In this article he will describe the creation of the Uro House image posted not long ago in the Finished Work section of the forums. It was very interesting for me to know more about the post process done on this image since there is a big difference between the pure render output and final result. Kuan team was very kind to share this process with us and I hope you’ll enjoy this article, learn from it and share your thoughts by commenting at the bottom of this article’s page.

An amazing looking finish for what once was an ordinary fireplace! The element, named Radiance, was inspired by various shelf mushrooms, based on their form, organizational structure, and component geometry. enhanced by lighting and motion sensors the final effect is amazing. This type of project fits into my recent interest in parametric design using tools such as Rhino along with Grasshopper very well… expect more information related to that.

I found this six part interior 3d lighting tutorial a few days ago by Florian Wild. I’m not a Maya or Mental Ray user but there is a lot to learn from this great resource, that can be implemented in any other package, even if two years old! There is also the story behind the writing of these tutorials and how it came to be if you have the patience to follow the CGTalk thread… Have fun!
