IES Lights Help
hi, i'm having a problem with IES lights.
I'm working for a lighting company, we use IES datas of products we use.
but they never work like the real product in my renders. they are always
so weak, so i have to get it's dimming settings from 100% to 10000% - 60000%
and i don't know which setting gives the real products result.
there are no problems in IES files, because we also use them on DiaLUX and have no problem.
Sorry for poor english

Ies lights have their physical intensity built in, and that might vary very significantly. Usually in a 3d program when you create a standard light, everything is set up in a way that if you hit render the exposure is more or less ok. This is not at all the case with all physical stuff. Ie if you are using a physical sun and sky, it is absolutely essential to adjust exposure, else you get just white. Same is true with Ies lights. The good news is, once you found the right exposure setting in your application for Ies lights, you should just be able to add another different Ies, and it should be right there already.

first - what software / application you are using. not sure but i found out that ies in sketch up / vray have diffirent behavior compare to 3ds max. in SU/vray you need to jack up its power to a million compared to 3ds max which is about just a hundred to thousand.
