Default HOVER Model Kit

The model kit is available for download. It is provided as a SketchUP model mash up of parts that you can use as you see fit to create your own design.

The parts are designed to be able to rotate on their center based on the 3x3 grid in order to make it easy for you to copy move them and just rotate to fit as needed in the new place.

I'll try to post a short screen cast soon of a buildup process using the kit.

You can download from the BOX folder at the main challenge page or use the links below.

Download the model (Server 01)
Download the model (Server 02)

If you have problems with the model let me know...

What to do with the model kit (and what not)

You need to use the kit to create your main subject matter of the visualization... the hovering structure. It can be small or big, it's up to you. In the challenge graphics you can see two examples that were made with this kit, one is small scale beach front resort and the other is a large public building on a slope.

rbc_HOVER_PR_Splash_Hush_03.jpg

The kit will help you build the base but you are most welcome to add elements to it like your own rails, shading systems, junctions to connect parts at different angles too... and so on. You can really get creative at this and come up with a unique design to visualize.

So... not many rules this time - more freedom to explore.

Have Fun!

Thanks for the model upload.

A quick question -

Do we need to implement all the 4 structures. Or we can edit them as per required or design element we are planning to work on. As you have mentioned we have the freedom to move them around, but if we need to eliminate any is it okay with the rules.

Thanks in advance.

Girish.

Cool set of parts! You could go all over with this.

Would it be possible to get the kit in OBJ format for those of us who are SketchUp-impaired?

Sure, added more formats. They can be downloaded from the box folder here currently - http://clicky.me/vZt
will add more servers later on.

Hi Ronen,

I have two questions...

#1 Can we change the floor to ceiling heights?

#2 What's the function of this recessed tray behind the sliding door tray (internally?)

many thanks!

Yes you may change the height. I've set it to 3.3M Floor to Floor and also added parts for double that, but I can see no problem by adjusting it... what do you have in mind?

That tray is kind of placeholder for AC outlet, or placeholder for adding more glass panels if needed and converted to the same sliding channel - Over detailing? Perhaps :-)

I have seen this question asked a few times but I'm not sure about the answer. Do we have to use all of the models provided or can we use just bits and pieces.
Thanks.

Same question as INXA,

"Do we need to implement all the 4 structures. Or we can edit them as per required or design element we are planning to work on. As you have mentioned we have the freedom to move them around, but if we need to eliminate any is it okay with the rules."

Thanks! Rampidthoughts

Thanks.
No need to use all the parts... you have many variations inside the kit to choose from.
