    hello,

Im out of competition this time but still want to have some fun. I set my personal goal this time to make the entry with a new engine (thea).also I would like to provide a slightly different output than the standard still.the idea is to make some panos...rendered spherical and show them interactive trough flash.

As for the concept...well you guys make it relay hard for me ....I have been making sketches the past days but seems i will have to think a bit more.
it is very interesting to see the same idea already developed by someone else.

still here is the first version i imagined. Its al based on tension and inspired by Calatrava´s structures(http://www.google.hr/images?q=calatr...1015)......the thing is James (James Insley) has done it already ....lol

here are some sketches I made

I culdnt devote much time but here is some stuff i made .... and really hope I can manage to finish

    some instancing and pano test:
    http://www.3darscom.com/kizo/sumaP02.swf

the house cubes are just a placeholder for now I have jet to think about it...but most probably Im going to work on a small "refuge in the nature" type of structure.

as my intention is a 360 pano from inside the house( within the glass structure).....I will make all the env.

my idea for the water is a greenish murky one or smth similar....

the terrain is made in several steps. I started with GEOCONTROL ( Home ) as i was curious to try it......than I sculpted it in mudbox to get the feel beter.
the next step i made a retopo of it...so very low poly and split in pieces.....this will allow me to isolate a single piece, UV mapp it and make a custom tex......all this will go in mudbox once again but also displaced using cinema 4d internal deformer and procedural noises

Very nice and intriguing workflow for the landscape part. Starting with Geocontrol is a good idea as it makes the landscape very natural and plausible. Got to try it.

here is the illustrated brake down of the steps i made for the terrain.
I used GEOCONTROL to explore fast some scenarios.
using the obtained mesh I sculpted (sketched) in mudbox to achieve more detailed areas I had in mind . Added some random procedural noises inside c4d.....to see more detailed structure of the surface that can be switched off/on.

Once I got the main idea I did a fast low poly retopo inside c4d and UV mapped the pieces with bodypaint. The mesh resolution and texture coverage are more detailed near the main focus area and much lower away.
back in mudbox to sculpt more detailed (but still low poly) base mesh

each piece will be painted a custom tex. and than some deformation applied with noises and displace deformer
