Hi to everyone,
It's my first post here in this forum, so hello to everyone. ![]() I followed the first challenge rather irregularly through Ronen's updates on other forums, this time however I decided to enter myself. I have a rough concept already in mind, I'll post it sometime soon. Apart from the exterior, I'll definitely plan to build the interiors as well, depending on the amount of time I can spare. So this is what I thought of so far. A rather modern almost futuristic building (I was inspired by Amsterdam's UN Studio), yet still along the lines of technical feasibility.
It's situated close to a lakes border with a large part suspended over the water. I was thinking of an autumn setup with a black concrete cladding for the exterior walls, huge glass windows and mullions/frames made from titanium- they'll shimmer slightly golden/ warm. The backside of the house (the side facing the forest will receive a wooden cladding. While the exterior will be very strict and angular, I plan the exact opposite for the interior with large comfy pieces of furnitures. The dominating materials for the interior will be wood, leather and iron. Last edited by Tora_2097; 09-09-2010 at 08:40 PM. |

Yes, like I said in my second post UN Studio served as an inspiration for the front structure, although the original is much smaller and has a different base. I had no idea of the fate of the VilLA NM though.

Hi Tora, like other guys said before, beautiful concept!. Nice calm mood and with those chosen materials, this could be really something.
I came across one interesting problem regarding water levels and flooding the river, i suppose your house position is on enough high level, but could similar scenario change something (for example river stairs approach)?. Looking forward seeing some new posts.. Cheers |

Thanks @ everyone.
Isucur, I'm afraid I did not understand what you meant concerning the water level. Do you think there is something not working with the stairs leading into the water? I developed the areal further and played with material assignments already. There will be lots of different POV's possible. Although I showed them in daylight now, I think about a night setup for the exterior shots to give the building a more dramatic effect and preventing the house from blending with the noise background. Damn, moving quickly! Love the concrete texture on the ceiling in that last one.
What are your trees made in? Are you using Vray? |
