Which forums do you actively participate in?
And why?
I can always be found over at CGA... but lately I have been poking around at Polycount and a few other forums including Ronen Beckerman's for the HOVER challenge... I am considering spending less time at CGA and being more active on another forum... maybe just to have a different set of eyes on my work or experience some different points of view when it comes to our industry.
A little change could be a good thing!
So, what forums do you participate in and why? What do you like about them?

I happen to be a moderator at 3DAllusions.com, we like to think that we have a great bunch of regulars who are all about helping folks grow. They even tollerate lame artisticly challenged people like me <g>. Being a geologist who does land development, I started my quest to do arch vis late in life, with no training in art whatsoever, so, what little I've gotten I can point to them as a huge support base. We'll be having a Charrette there in the near future, all are invited to participate.

3D Allusions is great. I tried to participate in the last one 3 or 4 months ago, but baby came and all my free time went out the window...

IDVN looks like a great site, i will have to read it a little more in depth tomorrow after some sleep.
PUSHPULLBAR is also one of my weekly visits, and I probably spend more time browsing Evermotion than what is healthy
I also spend a ton of time on Peter Guthrie's blog reading his posts and studying his images... and then trying to apply his techniques through mental ray to my own illustrations.
the way your site shares projects from concept to finished marketing material is great, I definitely am interesting in getting more involved in posting my work for crits, etc...

The main reason for me starting my own forum was to have a place with more focus on architectural visualization and the process of making it from initial concept to finish in any form or tools used along the way... It's an ongoing process and I have many ideas to implement but I feel it has become a place for artist to share & learn... I hope more will join in and make it even better.
I really like your approach, and a hearty thanks goes out to you. The placing of a set of "building blocks" seems to be really pushing the creative aspect. I love the way so many have been developing their ideas using sketches, something that is very new to me. I must say that I also appreciate how civil everyone is being. It seems like in too many of the forums there is a lot of carping and mean interactions.

very true. I only know of a few forums that I would really participate in... CGA, 3DAllusions (very little so far) and this forum... so far it has been a very good experience and its nice to see a few familiar names also hanging around.

the first forum ever i joined as a silent guest was evermotion. It was like few years ago, than i knew nothing about CG at all. I just like all the people gathering there, creating and showing their works - I think it was time, when evermotion started to create their archmodels series (i still remember frst cd's =) so it was a while ago..
Don't know why, but this forum, by Ronen is somehow different.

I bet, and wish that it would grow! 'cos it's really nice place. Somehow You managed to create it's own atmosphere and it feals.. I'm bit suprised of how guys came up to hold really nice conversation here, without spaming and ruining the overall mood (what sometimes happen in places where are too many people).
Maybe that's because You don't use a lot of active promotional stuff, and here gathers those who really want to do something instead of these that are just wasting their time =)
Best luck in the future for creating this place and defining it's own path! B'unique! AND..HappyB-day!
