    Default Challenge House Model

Here you will be able to download the house model. Currently only a SketchuP model is available, since this is how a build my models.

More focus was given to the main living area of the house. The interior is there just for show - you can do whatever you want inside. More about what you can and can not do with the model will be posted shortly...

If someone that converts it to his own format like 3dsmax, Cinema4D, Modo, Maya, etc... is kind enough to share it with the others - please send me the links so i can post them here for all to see

    SketchUP v7

    Download the model (Server 01)
    Download the model (Server 02)
    Download the model (Server 03)

    SketchUP v6

    Download the model (Server 01)

    Other available formats

    3DS (Server 01)

    COLLADA (Server 01)

    FBX (Server 01)

LXO (modo) (Server 01) Thanks to Chris Hague

If you have problems with the model let me know... since this is the first challenge and first SketchUP model a share with you i guess some might pop up.

What can you do with the model (and what not)

    1. The basic rule is don't change the house architecture. All floors, walls and openings should remain as they are.
    2. I would allow updates to the two curved exterior walls if you like. They don't have to many opening currently and if you think you need it open in places the be my guest - just don't move them
    3. New : I would allow changing the round inner pillars supporting the house. Their bottom base must remain at current location, but you can change them in many ways (concrete, metal, I beam, multiple metal tubes spiraling or growing out like a tree for example).
    4. New : I would allow changing the round outer pillars supporting the roof. For these ones you can even move the bottom base location.
    5. You may change the way the windows are framed, but they must remain in their current openings.
    6. The louvers are optional (I recently do a lot of those :-))
    7. You can add displacement to surface that will change their geometry for example.
    8. The interior elements in the model are optional - you can and if fact encouraged to create your own interior interpretation.
    9. The house site is optional - you can either use it or create your own.
    10. The environment in which the house is built in is totally up to you.

I hope that even though plans are not included you will understand the pars of the house. If you find it difficult let me know.

The rules might change so please check back from time to time to make sure we are all the same page.

    Have Fun!

Great stuff. Will download asap. I've got some strange ideas about the exterior, so it would be good to know what we can and cannot do before we get started. Any limitations in terms of the textures/materials we are allowed to use?

    Already downloaded.
I have some ideas as well, therefore I should wait for the clarifications first.

No limits, use what you like - as long as you are allowed to use from a copyright perspective.

Please do remember that in the end, the winners will write the making-of the scene so try to document what you do while you do it so it will be easy later on.

    Thanks Ronen,
No problem regarding copyright. I think I'll only use my own stuff.
One last question before I get started, are we free to replace the exterior, including the perimeter wall?

Is there an option to download a version of the model as version 6 rather than 7?
