modo format of the GH House model cleanup
Hi guys,
Just a quick question regarding the download modo file. I'm new to archviz modeling and rendering and was wondering how exactly the mesh should be cleaned up (or if its good to go).
When I load the file into 401 I notice that the model is incorrectly scaled (411 meters high is a little excessive for a house!) and that there are a lot of tri's in the model (I know this is from the sketch up model) that may cause problems down the line when texturing, applying materials etc.
After trying to cleanup the model myself by deleting tri's, making quad's etc I noticed that alot of the model seemed to be 'doubled up' on itself, for instance when deleting the front face of a window, a second layer would stay in its place.
Any help on an initial modo workflow would be great, I haven't had experience with different file formats so I don't really Know if this is to be expected, if it will actually cause any problems etc.
Cant wait to start pinning down some ideas and getting some initial renders together.
Cheers for the help.

Quads
I don't personally use MODO, but in 3ds all i did was look at each object individually and sliced quads where they need to be and kill all the tri's. But as far as optimizing the geometery all the extra tris are going to do is slow the sucker down and make UV mapping a nasty bugger. Its up you what you really wanna do. Killing the extra edges will be alot of work but in the end what you get is alot easier to work with.
I recommend Identifying the hard edges and ensureing the only edges that remain are the walls limits. I belive that when i was done with mine it dropped from 25k Polys to about 15k. Much better on the eyes.
Sorry, I may have missed the point. But I'll leave it at that.
