Okay, Im really gonna push myself and test my limits on this one.. After all, this is the only time one gets to work for himself and learn in the process.

Coming from a desert environment, I've always looked at luscious evergreen forest scenes and drooled a bit.. So im totally going for a Dark wood house in a cold forest scene. Not sure if its going to be a white scene, but definitely very very cold! =)

Some images I got my inspiration from (environment):

    and for the architecture:

and My first attempt to find an interesting POV. It's not final, but i think this is the area i'm going to focus on the most for my exterior shot.

Hi kimaera, well just like you said "Dark wood house in a cold forest scene". Nice Nice framing, maybe just little-bit too dark in my opinion, but if you plan to reach reference images, everything will come in its place..Those trees, are they cypresses or..?

Oh and one small question: Would you like to live in that kind of environment?
I am not sure i would. I'm kinda sheepish..

    keep on with posts..

    Robert and Arthur, thanks =)

isucur - Yeah, those images were strictly for POV extents; In terms of lighting and surrounings it'll be much MUCH brighter.

The currrent trees are just proxies now (placeholders) - They will be very detailed in Further stages. Thanks for taking the time fellas =)

Next stages are lighting up the scene, and detailing the model; I think for this project im going to do them simultaneously.

Being from a hot country at christmas I'd love to live somewhere like that if only for just a little while! About 40 deg C this time of year!!

Look forward to seeing this progress!!

Richard & BBB3 - Thanks guys.. not able to spend much time on this, but those few hours i do get are really enjoyable!

RenderMaster, I didn't want for the general scheme to be "Scary", so i decided to light things up a bit... and it definitely got colder! =)

One thing i have to say is that i'm really inspired by the architecture of the house, and so have decided to bring it out, making it the main focus of the image by designing an appropriate hardscape using the same linear language of the house.

The hard scape will also act as a frame to my POV, so it would return the focus to the architecture itself.

Here's where I'm going with this.
