My first post here and first challenge. I attached some rough sketches of my idea, since I have to think on paper to start. The house is to be set in a dense forest at dusk. The house itself is intended to be a man-made part of the forest, with tree-like columns, organically shaped furniture. Don't know yet if it will look new or old. I chose a very low POV for the exterior to emphasize the monumental scale of the forest and house (a Pandora effect?). Not sure about the perforated window coverings, or water elements. I may leave either or both of those out.

My final images will be tending toward NPR, since I use PS a lot.

Good luck to all!! Comments welcome always.

Thanks for the comments..Here are more progress images. The colors are simply placeholders for me to use later. I have replaced columns with tree trunks per my original sketch. Added "organic" furniture (my first attempt at organic shapes in Sketchup). The vertical cylinders will be lighting tubes. The scattered spheres in the garden will be lights as well.

I really like your concept... this was one of the things i was thinking about when i allowed changes to be made to the pillars!

Here is an example of such a treatment that you might like. More information in the original post serie architects / chris lee and kapil gupta: the tote, mumbai

bakbek: Indeed..that is exactly the kind of thing that intrigues me. I just hope I can do the idea justice. I've always had a fondness of the idea of bringing forest or tree metaphors into architecture. Thanks for the reference.

To be honest, I liked your earlier sketched more than the lastest post.

You have a crackin concept! and the refs are great (even the ones Ronen posted are so inspirational). I think you should be able to come up with a top notch image if you develop it, but at the moment its miles and miles away.
