Default Minimalist 15 - lighting test

    Hi guys!

I'm new here, so this is my first post after all.
Anyway, this project I called minimalist 15 is actually my lighting test.
(in way to upgrading my skill and portfolio.)

The design of interior set I model is actually based from the book
    - Home Décor; New Minimalist Style - Volume 38 by Page One.

    I wanted to make 3 option of lighting on this interior set;
1st - tried to make the lighting as close as image on the book. (but unfortunately )
2nd - tried to make a dusk atmosphere. (for this image I've used
Peter Guthrie HDRI skies - 1934 - dusk sun cloud.)
3nd - tried to make a night mood with an IES light on!

    All done in:
    3DS Max
    Vray
    Photoshop
    Lightroom
    NIC color

So finally, in way to improved my skill C&C are much much appreciated.

    Thanks.
    Cheers

hello there! I mostly like the second picture because of the contrast between warm color at the lower part of the image and the colder feeling i get from the top.
however, I think that a little more depth is missing from the picture. maybe if you darken just a little bit the end of the hall. the brightness between the foregroung and the backgroung is as i can see it almost the same and I would like a contrast there.

Your first image lacks the warmth of the picture from the magazine. White is never really white. It's affected by the sky, lights and materials around it! Start by playing with a photoshop photo filter!

Good work! They are really nice HDR's to work with!

I'm not too sure, because i'm quiet busy when i was practice those image. I thing i spend about 4-5 day of my spare time.

For the book, nothing special, i'm just do that manually - old school way.
