It's been some time since I've posted, but here is a glimpse of some of my latest work using UDK and real time arch viz. Everything you see was modeled in 3ds Max, then assembled and rendered using UDK (Unreal Development Kit). The total bake lighting time using UDK's Lightmass was about an hour at full resolution lighting. The video was captured using the frame dump command out of UDK which spits out saved frames as the video is played. The total render time for the video at 720p was literally the 3 minutes or so it took to play all the way through.
The process to create this video was different that your usual work flow. This was done to take advantage of the power of real time without cramming the main limitations of architectural modeling or baked lighting from Vray or Mental Ray. I'll be doing a breakdown shortly and I will keep you all posted. Until then, please enjoy.
