Good snowfall this weekend in my town not accustomed to this situation.
Result, I stay at home near the fire and I found nothing better than making a new fast image ... yes I know! There are much better way to pass time.

Based on the composition of a commercial for Poliform, find in a magazine a long time. I took all this in 3D and changed the focus point.
One point of view this time.

All done with Max + vRay + Photoshop.

I llike it but I have a critic: the overall exposition of the whole scene seems quite irrealistic to me. I mean that there should be more contrast between background and foreground. If most of the light coming inside the building is coming from the glass behind the sofa, the vegetation should be more exposed (eg brighter), right ? Or, if you keep the exposure as it is for the vegetation, then you should overexposed a little bit the foreground (that's just my personal point of view).
Anyway this is a good job

May I ask you a question ? How did you do the library ? Did you model it by yourself (the books) ?

Some more information :
vegetation:
I used 3 Ivy generated with the famous free plugin. Two trees from library. A very basic small tree I painted on the wall with the max tools. And homemade grass.

I purposely put a vegetation basis map and not brick or concrete on the bottom. For example, I deleted branches of Ivy. (My graphics card say thank you). I wanted a mass of vegetation. A true green wall. And not a wall with some plant above. This is not the same feeling at all I think.

DOF:
Based on classic zDepth pass. I didn't want to force a too-much-DOF because I want to visually enter vegetation in the room. So not too far away on a subject's.

Book :
It's a mix. Some personal model and other from Model+Model pack.
Very simple modelisation. Hand placement.

Lighting :
Well it's simple. I wanted to work a light thickest. A winter light. This is visibly not a great success, but it was the initial idea. Without burning and long shadows =)

i really love your work dude. I Love the green in the background (and that it is 3D), the purring cat of course and the mood the carpet the reflections and the overall warm/cold-look so magically creates.
