The images are nice but it's hard to give much feedback without a bit more info. The similarities suggest to me that the students were given a 3d model and an example and then were basically in charge of texturing/lighting/rendering? But then some of the textures seem consistent as well, like the wood siding so maybe there was less freedom than I think.
In general I like Luca's first image the best. His second image further down looks very good technically but lacks the visual appeal of his first image (indicating perhaps the second image was 'required' and the first was not, perhaps?)

Hi brodie,
you're right, you need some infos. They made the images without any 3d model, they just start from scheme in cad format. We give them a reflex camera to shoot textures and assets and lessons start from basic pencil drawing to how to quick model what they need. In 4 weeks they work a bit everyday on a personal image and this is the result.
In few words: Scheme -> Imageplan -> Assets creation -> Modeling -> Lighting -> Shading -> Rendering -> Postproduction.
Best regards,
Rob.

So, everything in the image was created by the student. They took pictures of different structures and incorporated them into the final image. I love the floor in the last two images and the first image as a whole is great.

As Roberto said, the students started from the Cad files to model the whole building. They took pictures to acquire the reference materials to replicate them in Vray or plants to compose on their images as well the human figures.
Thanks for your comments!

I think the images are great. I like the second image best with the large rock. The subtlety of the raked sand and the rock detail is excellent. I also feel this image has the best example of the person comp'd.
Nice work!!
