Smile Residence L'Atrium (Brick Repetition Problem)

    Greetings,

This my first rendering for a project under construction at the moment.I used SketchUp + V-ray + Photoshop.

I have a question regarding the brick repetition pattern, which is quite obvious. Do you know of any tips or sketchup/vray scripts that could randomize the tiling of a texture?

What do you think of the reflection of the windows? Too much reflection? Needs to be darker?

Let me know what you think of the overall rendering? Open to your critique.

    Thank you very much,
    Mina

Mina! Good to see you here, my friend.

Road could use some work, especially some curb detailing, I think it would make for a stronger foreground. Perhaps if you put some foliage/accessories on the other side of the street, where the camera is? The tree branch on the top right helps, but some more foreground elements would help the context, I think.

Tiling in the bricks isn't that noticeable, but see if you can blend two slightly altered brick maps together with a larger blend map (I don't know if SketchUp supports multiple UV sets or what, hopefully someone with more SketchUp experience can help you there...).

Otherwise, it would help if the lighting had more direction, especially over the trees, people, foliage, etc. Perhaps switching up the sky to something that's more gradient-like?

    Keep it up!

Tom, good to see you here too, especially as Mr. Senior member... Great work by the way.

Thanks buddy, I do need to work on the foreground + the sidewalk (needs more texture, its pale at the moment)

I will try using different brick textures and mixing them up, will let you know how it turns out...

I was short in time to finish the rendering before printing, but will try to fix it in general.

What about the reflection? Do you think its too reflective? Do i need to tone it down a little.

ps you have to come to montreal, before leaving your motherland...

For the repeating faccade you could use BRIX by Materialwerk. Itwas featured by Ronen on the Blog already and is made for such tasks.

I just browsed on Materialwerk? - plugins and textures for 3D but the ste is under construction?? Are they out of business?? Seems strange because it was a great tool.
