2 Months ago I shared the amazing commercial done by CGF, Donstroy “Heart of The Capital” Commercial, on the blog’s Facebook Fan Page and today I’m sharing their newly released making-of / breakdown video showing what went behind the scenes of this great spot. Creating this type of explanatory video is an art form of its own!
While browsing the net for information about parametric architecture modeling, I stumbled upon this mesmerizing video today I want to share with you all. In ‘Walking City’ you’ll see a computer generated figure constantly in motion end evolving through an array of architectural forms. Matt Pyke of Universal Everything multimedia studio directed this piece, referencing the utopian visions of the 1960’s architecture practice Archigram. It’s not short so try to stick with it to the end. All that you’ll see was done with Houdini. Enjoy!
Concrete is great! you know I think so by now, and when I stumbled upon the work of German based freelance photographer/artist Florian Müller I had to share it with you. Below you’ll find 3 photo sets of concrete buildings he took photos of, most interesting being the church “Johannes XIII” by Josef Rikus.
432 Park Avenue, NYC’s soon to be the tallest residential tower (also in the western hemisphere) just hit the 50% milestone in last month, reaching a height of 700 feet. Emmy-award-winning branding and creative agency DBOX is in charge of branding and creative for this project designed by architect Rafael Viñoly, and you should have a look at it if you didn’t already. Where can you see the film they made for it you ask? well… that is truly a million-dollar question!
Italian Architect and Illustrator Federico Babina amazes me with this fantastic set of 2d elevation drawings of buildings inspired by iconic works from artists like Piet Mondrian, Richard Serra, Andy Warhol, Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein and more totaling 27 such drawings.
